Hello DC Social Media Club Members!
After taking a brief summer hiatus following the great success of BlogPotomac in June, we’re looking forward to the upcoming year!
We’d like to make the development of Social Media Club events a collaborative effort (as it should be!), so a planning session and brown bag lunch for 2008-2009 meetings will be held on Wednesday, August 20th at the Social Media Group’s DC office (formerly Livingston Communications).
This planning session is geared towards local professionals who are interested in becoming a part of the Social Media Club DC committee. We’re looking for innovative, connected, and excited individuals who are dedicated to promoting and teaching others about social media. The only requirement is that you come prepared to plan one monthly meeting out of the year. Just to forewarn you, not every idea will make it to reality. It’s a group decision. You can work together as a team or individually to develop content, but you will be responsible for developing the topic, speaker or panel, locating a venue, and working on promoting the event. Current SMC-DC chairs Geoff Livingston and Larissa Fair will be available for guidance and official e-mails, Facebook event creation, etc. but overall it will be community driven.
